Description:

This is a program for adjusting audio mixers from the command line or
scripts, or interactively at the console or a terminal with a full-screen,
ncurses-based interface.

Requirements:

The ncurses library, found at ftp://ftp.clark.net/pub/dickey/ncurses, is
needed. Versions 1.9.9g and 4.0 are known to work with aumix. If you wish
to compile aumix with gpm support you'll need libgpm, which may be had
from http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/system/mouse/; version 1.13 is known
to work. Compiling with neither ncurses nor gpm will yield a much smaller
binary. You will need the OSS sound driver from
ftp://ftp.4front-tech.com/ossfree/ in your kernel or as a module.

Installation:

This version uses a different format for the file in which it saves and
loads its settings. The recommended way to convert an existing file is to
load it using your old version of aumix, then save it with the new aumix.
Further instructions on installation are in INSTALL.
